Their children didn’t know about the goodness that others had daily. Some of them even took weapons from the police and from the security, who knew, they might be good for something.
Second day the fight for power started, organizing the adherent clans, a deafly but tough fight, tough so the population won’t calm down and so the party will be lost. The state of perturbation, incertitude and doubt had to be maintained so that they can be controlled. When first rumors came out, got the whole population of the municipality into alert making them look around and group around someone that appeared more alike an autocrat on the situation, more famous, or maybe just more oriented and “got into” his command. Pretty well, some they were ashamed, after they realized “on whose hands they gave each-other”, but this was it. And our man leaves the “waves of revolution” going on with a different story.
“Ladies and gentleman, we continue the story of human kind with me, in the older régime being trained every year for “the local defense” and where I had the position of “Chief for the chemistry and radiation research group”, function that anticipated in the case of an emergency or of a bad situation to take the First secretary and place him into where I was commanded. My T.A.B., the action car with which I was endowed, was equipped with all that was necessary, for both defense and attack, being able to get from almost 200 roentgens into the radiated field. That’s how I was supposed to do things but last year “the displacement commands” were given out, in the case of a “general movement”, under some ticket traveling on all the transportation vehicles, tickets that were imprinted on the soldier’s book. To get to them I had to run from school on a break. When I got to the army’s unit I asked the officer that gave us the sheets (I knew him for ten years) to give me the tickets to imprint on my book because I don’t have that much time to sit in line for it. With all the friendship and acquaintance he told me to do not get upset but this is the command for him, to imprint the tickets on the book, thing that irritated me a lot. I went home, with no arguing, I took the “hospital outgoing” after the infarct and went to the military doctor, “Telegdi”, that “checked me out”, ending for all with the army, fact that disengaged me from walking “Bradulet” in the revolution days, although, from custom, I was checking his “actions”. When he was taken out on the REMIN terrace he was very scared. Colorless, he was saying what “others” asked him to say. In the end I found out he retired to “Sibiu”.

The “Baia Mare” revolution was boiling. Committees that lasted for hours, some for days, were made, they were complaining, they were almost speaking like “Ratiu”: “Vote for me”, otherwise they’ve done it all, including the armed threats. First rumor of big interest: “the dam is poisoned” (how much poison is needed for 17, 6 millions of m³ of water) made people go from indifference to panic. This news was diffused by four young men from an ARO, with a tricolor, kicking and screaming on the city streets “the news day”. After a few hours, the second news was: “The Security Unit from “Somcuta Mare” attacks “Baia Mare”, nobody having any doubt about it.
The newspaper “For Socialism” was taken over by one who has been “at the propaganda” and who did not stay for too long in there. The newspaper changes its name and becomes (after Scanteia and others) of the nation, in the end continuing to stay on what it’s today.
The real battle for power was taken at the Municipality Committee, where “the presidents” were being changed almost daily, if not at least once a week, until the army got the power, in fact a lieutenant colonel that with a little support from people got to stay till the elections took place. Hardly, considering the people, the society and the brawlers wanted quick and concrete changes. When the person that “leaded” the group from the security building got at the Municipality Committee, a hard woman, that “before” used to be a sort of an organizer for the activities of UTC, stops him:
-Where are you going?
The short guy and massive in the same time, confident in him and “the ones from behind” that accepted him as a boss after the immixture from the security, bawled at her, in a different manner of decency that had to be given considering his license (he was a teacher).
– Listen, lady, I was invited here and you are trying to stop me? By that time the “supporters” were “moving on”, “giggling” like any other man.
– STOP! The woman shouted with a voice of a thunder. I respect man as a specie and I am religious even before the Free Europe motto (in fact of “Maloux”) which brings the sentence of: “21 century will be a faithful one or it won’t be at all”, but if this thing, faith, wouldn’t have been placed in the Holy Bible, you would have known me different.

It’s all about, if my memory doesn’t play tricks on me, you remembering some of your childhood, when your parents strove in secret to teach you what faith means and you may still remember when they told you that “woman is made for man and man for woman”. If it weren’t for the religion, I would have “explained” to you the part with “woman for man”. You, males, who do you, think you are since you have so many guts? You troop in here, clinking your weapons and giving a speech of command! My punishment for you would not be beating or humiliation that you truly deserve, because any woman can be a hope for pleasure for any man, but not any man can give the same pleasure to any woman. Then, a woman from the moment she starts to put rags on her backside, lives in a continuous doubt, a perpetual fright. She never has the right to definitively deny a man “you never know which might be her fore destine” and what lies in the head of the fore destined one. Any warlike can express to any woman “demands” and she must adapt “him”, she has to listen his “approaches” phrased in one language that for the most times are a disgrace for the human kind. The monthly frights, birth and other “pleasures” that give her the state of female slave, are also “reserved” for women. So, my “beloved”, the punishment I would give you is: to be at least for a year …women. Then I would be sure, if you would come here, you would know to “to say” “good evening” and to behave as … humans. Now leave, I’ve seen you enough!
Time-servers you could find everywhere. They used to fight for positions, and it seems that other type of fights haven’t been in “Baia Mare”, and it seems that they are the only one’s to be satisfied after the changes that have been made in the country, changing among them selves and making “teams” that circle around them.
On Christmas we caroled with holey tricolors and carbide night lights. From the TBC Hospital and till the barracks there was only one bulb on the Cosbuc Street on no. 24. You could still notice some lights around the Mara hotel, but our way was different. The ordinance for the handing out of the “obtained” weapons during the revolution was given, but few crowded for the “give away”. Then it started to snow as if there was a wish for the wash up of all sins and the cover of all “garbage”. A news crept me out: a child from our school, that broadcasted “the action” from the Security Headquarters, was found in the draw well of the elevator with various knife perforations on his body. He was the only one from town to have a receiving areal (that needed the security approval) and he was considered to be the best wireman from the county. He was …
